CHANGE HAPPENS

Business is in a period of change.  Everyday, companies are faced with tough decisions that often result in the outplacement of valued professionals.  For the employer in this difficult position, change that benefits both the professional and the company is the optimal outcome.  For the employees going through this change, the process of getting from one end of the transition to the other can be a long, emotionally difficult journey, or it can be a time of self-reflection, renewed energy and a new self-confidence.  That’s where Smooth Landings comes in.

CHANGE IS A PROCESS

Our program includes a half-day intensive workshop led by professional coaches followed by 3 months of one-on-one coaching designed to help outplaced employees successfully transition.  Participants in our program learn the nuts and bolts of job hunting in this competitive environment, including skills such as resume writing and interview tactics.  More importantly, they go through a personal assessment to identify strengths and gain self-confidence.  Participants also take a good look at their career paths – is this where they want to go?  Are their skill sets a good match for this profession?  What are their long-term goals?  Are there alternatives to full-time employment?

For employers faced with downsizing, Smooth Landings can help them be good corporate citizens and lessen the liabilities associated with transitioning employees.  We provide a positive, nurturing environment designed to help employees maximize their potential.  Employees have the opportunity to network with others who are going through the same process.  Our coaches are trained professionals with relevant experience who are accustomed to coaching professionals in transition.

         
   
 

 

SMOOTH LANDINGS INCLUDES:

HALF DAY WORKSHOP

Each participant leaves this results-oriented workshop with a plan to implement.  Includes:

  • Values clarification
  • Prioritization
  • Strength-finding assessment
  • Development of personal action plan

COACHING

Three months of transition coaching empowers employees and moves them into action.  Includes:

  • Two-hour intake meeting
  • Nine teleconference sessions
    (45 minutes each)
  • E-mail contact in between sessions

JOB SEARCH TRAINING

Hands-on preparation helps employees complete the transition process.  Includes:

  • Resume & cover letter kit
  • 3 resumes & cover letters targeting different positions
  • optimized to keywords
  • designed and written by trained HR professional
  • One hour interview skills session with
    HR professional
